44 t to 41

Recommended Posts

I have 400 sm and would like to know if I can swap out the 44 t sprocket for a 41t without shortening the chain?

Tha adjuster is at the most forward indicator line now which is a good thing.:bonk:

Thanks for your help.

Fast -times , yes you can . The SM comes standard with a 41 tooth sprocket and a 110 link chain , So if you havent changed the chain then it will be no problemo . I actually went from the 41 to a 44 a few years back , trying to find some extra grunt , greg

The chain has been changed so I will have to count the links, wondering if it will still be in the range of the adjuster?

I just find the bike in between forth and fifth on my commute at 65 to 70 km.

Now the hunt is on for a 41t sprocket.
