2009 crf 250r oil problem

Recommended Posts

hey guys, my crf just had rings replaced 20 hours ago and the air filter wasnt sealing right so after a few goes i think its sealing good now but it wasnt for a long time and i fell off the other day when i dont think it was sealing and the bike got a mouth of dust and now iv healed up and i started it and there was some blue smoke. just ignored it and now its using oil but i cant see any smoke and there is a power and compression loss do you think it needs a top end again?

The only way to tell if the valves need replaced is to check the clearances on them. After you fell over on the bike, some of the oil probably went into the valve cover breather tube and ended up in the intake track. That's probably where the blue smoke came from. If the valves are still in specs, leave it alone and ride it.
