Newbie question

Recommended Posts

So this is my first time doing a full rebuild on a dirtbike. I have an 06 yz250f. My simple question is when assembling the lower end (for example the crank and counter balance nuts) how do you hold things from turning when trying to torque down the nuts holding them? I'm afraid of jacking up some of the gear teeth or something else important if I try and wedge something in there to keep them from turning. Thanks

A penny my friend, works wonders at binding the primary gears so you can loosen or torque the pinion nut and balance shaft nut. As far as the clutch hub, just spend the $40 for the fancy Motion Pro vice grips that hold the clutch hub.
