NO SPARK!!! Wiring help?

Recommended Posts

Someone just gave me a KLM125 (I think thats what it is, not sure what year either) Frame Seriel starts with MX125B. The lights have been stripped, theres no battery, no rectifier, no ignition switch, no kill switch. AND I HAVE NO SPARK!!!

OBVIOUSLY someone made it just for OFF-ROAD which is fine but what components are necessary for a bike to run?

HERES THE PICS BELOW OF THIS WIRING MESS!!!!!!

UPDATE: JUST GOT A PHONECALL THAT THE MOTOR DOESNT BELONG TO THE FRAME EITHER. MOTOR SERIEL: KH1 then MX125AE. CAN SOMEONE HELP SOMEHOW ON WHERE I SHOULD START?

THIS IS HOW I GOT THE BIKE...(pics below)

Just ordered a Haynes for all KMXs from 1986-2002. Like I said motor and frame dont match up so this will not be easy unless someone helps me by telling me how I should Re-wire this bike? SEE THE PICS ABOVE FOR THE MESS I HAVE TO RE-WIRE!!! I dont know where to start because I dont know what compnents I will need since someone stripped most of the original parts.

i spent an hour searching for your model of bike and the motor. first question i have, how many wires are coming out of the coil? we'll go from there. and from the pictures, id fix all the open holes in the carb before attempting to start it. looks as if the choke button is missing. dont need it firing and siezing up on ya.

pull the mag cover off and shoot me a picture. with all that mess i cant get a good idea what there is to work with. but for one, the coil grounds itself to the frame and the lead from the coil goes up to the ignition box. the kill switch will have a lead going down to the coil and ground there and the other lead from the switch goes to the ignition box. if you dont have an ignition box, let me know. cause than the wiring will be easier. especially if your coil only has two wires coming out of it. i wonder if you coil is a points and codenser setup.

It cant ground by itself to the frame cause its made out of plastic.

The wires on the throttle side of the handlecars connect to nothing.

I beleive this is the CDI and the wires coming off of it:

the switch on the right handlebar looks like the stop switch. if not, you may need to just buy a new one. but i did the best i could with the pictures you provided. i hope it helps and you get some spark.

Ya thats the run/off switch on the right side of the handlebars. I guess that would work as my kill switch also then? Someone took off the Key Ignition Switch so we dont have that. Im trying to understand your pic. Will print it out and see what I can do with it and get back to you :smirk: Thanks Bro!

P.s. anything you want better pics of just lemme know!!! WE NEEDA GET THIS BIKE RUNNING :bonk:
