2000 yz250 Keihin 38mm Rebuild unable to source oring/seals

Recommended Posts

Howdy all,

I performed a complete breakdown to acid dip all possible parts including an internal part where the jets mount. Not sure what to call it because all of the diagrams I have found do not show it. The oring/seal is odd shaped, half moon that dips down to surround 2 passageways that have about a 2.5mm OD. In addition to that seal none of the kits available include the throttle position sensor seal, you have to by the assembly.

I'm not interested in buying $200+ in parts when at most $50 should do it. And yes I should have looked into what was available before I completely broke it down. I had two days to get it running and I assumed I could source a complete kit.

Working on getting a photo of the "jet mount platform" up online so I can link out to it

At this point I just want to get it together for the rest of the season, my new years ride is shot =[

Thanks,

~XV

I'm now seeing that it may be impossible to source it. JD is looking into and thanks for the info. How annoying that I can't reuse this part because of one gasket. Buying a used replacement doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy knowing it may have the same issue at some point. Maybe I should look into another model that I know can be completely rebuild.

Thanks

You can get the jet block o-ring here http://www.mxsouth.com/keihin/keihin-complete-carburetors-diagram-parts-list-of-pwk33.htm It's listed at the bottom of the page after item #32 as "jet block o-ring not shown" The sudco website lists it the same way. http://www.sudco.com/CatalogJPG/049.jpg
