wr250 head torque question

do you torque the head to spec loosen torque to spec then 1/2 like the 450? i think the book tells me to torque once to 27 ft.lbs and thats it ??

For my recent 290 kit I torqued it crisscross in 5lb increments till the 27lb point (6 stages)...you want a nice even compression of the head gasket.

the 290's are prone to failure hence the extra care is needed but this would probably work well for factory bore also.
