1998 CR250R Fork Oil Volume

Recommended Posts

I just got a '03 CR250R that has a bent fork tube. Until I have the extra cash to replace it, I borrowed a set of forks from a '98 CR250R. I've swapped out the triples and everything bolts up fine. I need to rebuild the '98 forks and already have bushings & seals (was going to rebuild the '03 forks until I found out about the bent tube).

I have the manual for the '03 which gives me inner & outer fork oil volume. Can someone help me out with oil amounts for the '98? Manuals are cheap enough but all I need is the oil amounts.

Thanks in advance....

The '03 have a larger diameter piston/cartridge. You can get a much better working finished product with the larger pistons. 2003 was the first year for the larger diameter internals on the Hondas.

Swapped out the cartridges and put in new bushing and seals today. I think I found out why one of the forks had a blown seal. It looked like it had motor oil in it. That stuff was pretty thick.

Anyway, I'm good to go now. Thanks for all your help. :bonk:

Now it's time to "test" tomorrow. :smirk:
