xr100 crf100 valve questions, what years?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying desperately to find inexpensive valves for a elcheapo fixer upper. It's a 2000 model xr100r. Ebay has valves listed, 48$ a pair, but is stating that they will only fit 2004 and up CRF100's. Anyone have an idea if the valves changed after 2003? Every other earlier valve is incredibly expensive 39$ or more for JUST the Exhaust valve! I'm not wanting high performance, just stock and/or inexpensive! thanks, LandsVW

Another question about differences. The 2004 crf100 cam sprocket is a different part number, and a lot cheaper than the xr100 2000 cam sprocket, both 30 teeth...

Can i use either? What is the difference? Thanks

I hear ya... I'm looking for an exhaust valve for an '83 xr100 motor. Nothing cheap out there. Any place to get a bargain? Where was the $39 one? I saw them around $50 for just the ex valve...

I think the best deal I found was $40 including shipping, but it says that it fits "85 - 03" and I worry that my '83 motor won't work with it. I'm hesitant to "buy it now"!

Didn't mean to hijack your thread here... just having similar troubles.

yeah, the guys have said that the CRf100's 04 and up are the same valve. I double checked through bike bandit, and looks as tho they are. I just kept searching Google until I found one for 39$. also, if you type in CRF100 in Ebay, there are 2 for 48$. dunno if you need 2, but that's how they're being sold. intake and exhaust, btw. Weird, but, true from what I can tell. those valves must be made of solid titanium or something to be that ridiculously expensive.

Thanks! I'll check around locally and see what I can find... my boss might be able to get a deal at 10% over dealer cost. Dealer quoted at $60 retail! If nothing else, sounds like ebay will work. Need valve, retainer, and new keepers.
