bleeding brakes

i have been using a syringe and pushing fluid from the bottom. i got alot more pressure than i had when i started but dont think it is 100% do i also need to bleed it the old fashion way and pump the brake and release the fluid also

for some strange reasen the drz does not really respond to the (old fashion way ) well the back brake will but the front won't so just keep working at it till you like the feel you want.

You will most likely find you have an air bubble at the highest point, this being where the brake line loops over the top of the speedo.

Always be mindful not to let the M/C get a gut full of air as the oil level drops while bleeding, never release the pressure off the brake lever until your bleeder or banjo connections are closed up or it will put you back to square one, I crack the banjo connection on the M/C and bleed there first, as opposed to try and push a bubble down hill to the caliper.

In the end perseverance will pay off:thumbsup:

back bleed , conventional and as mentioned , crack the banjo bolt at the M/C

WHEN you backbleed make sure you have a perfect seal at the caliper so you dont force air in

I bled the front brakes with my dad the old fashioned way on my old bike when I got my hel as lines...it took like 10 minutes of pumping the front to finally get some pressure.

alright i will keep going at it tomorrow i went on and put the new headlight on and washed all the plastics.. had to step away from the front brakes for a little

i have a vacuum container, you pump it up put hose on the bleeder ( make sure you have somebody keeping fluid in resovior and it sucks the fluid right thru and walla no air.

The old fashioned way works. You just have stick with it and you'll get a feel for it...

Yupp, just keep doing it, make sure to always have fluid in the cap and to keep having someone fill it up every few times or else...back to the beginning lol

I bleed the brakes the old fashion way after I installed speedbleeders. Small cost for "no-hassle" brake bleeding.

I used the Phoenix Brake Bleeder (http://www.brakebleeder.com/) that I use on my cars when I changed my DRZ lines. Pushed fluid up to the top, then I bled them normally. Took like 3 mins.

Once you have some pressure, squeeze the brake lever hard, tie it in place and let it sit for awhile or overnight. The pressure turns big, stuck bubbles into small ones which can migrate easier. It probably wouldn't hurt to tap on the side of the brake line occasionally to unstick the bubbles, too.
