1984 CR250R - Trouble getting it started

Recommended Posts

So I have a 1984 CR250r and I can't get the bike to start. It hasn't been run in about 5 years. The engine was rebuilt, but in pieces when I bought it. Here is the things I have done so far.

I cleaned the carb.

I checked and have a blue spark.

I replaced the CDI with a used one.

I replaced the kill-switch with a new one.

I replaced the ignition coil with used one from a 84' CR500. The tolerances are the same as the CR250. I am getting spark with the original coil, but its much weaker. I have switched them around and it still wont start.

I have cleaned all the contacts and the grounds.

I replaced the stator with a used one from a 1985 CR250r.

I used new plugs and made sure to gap them.

I have tried using stating fluid.

I have double checked everything. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
