Clutch Pressure Plate question

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Installing a new clutch kit and springs in my 06 yz250f today. How do I know if I should replace my pressure plate? I don't really have any experience in doing this (first time) so I'm not sure exactly what I should be looking for. The pressure place looks really polished where the plates rub it and looks to be worn down maybe 1/16". Any input would be awesome. Thanks

If there are no visual/ noticable grooves, it still may be okay to use. Go with it if you think it will still work fine for you.

That's exactly what I'm saying is that there is a groove worn where the friction plate contacts the pressure plate. I just can't find anywhere in the manual or anywhere else stating is there's a certain amount of wear that makes it "out of spec."

If you have a 1/16 inch step on the pressure plate from what appears weare replace it, they are pretty cheap. What does the bottom of the hub look like?
