Honda over torqued, should I take it apart and re-torque?

Recommended Posts

I just finished my new cylinder head gasket and torqued it to 45ft lbs, I had some advise for the wrong machine. Should I take it apart again and re-torque the head, or leave it. I think its supposed to be 33ft lbs. Will it cause damage if I leave it?

Thanks,

Mike

I wouldn't worry about it, if it was supposed to be tighter than you orignially intended then it might be a cause for concern.

I was thinking the same. Just was concerned about heat cycle. It will loosen after a few hours runtime as well.

Keep a close watch on it for the first few rides. those engines are know to have problems with head studs pulling out
