Resealing Air Box

Recommended Posts

Bike: 2001 RM250

I am getting this bike ready to race hare scrambles this year. I can push in the sides of my air box and see thats its not sealed and its dirty. It looks like its held together with a few small rivets. I was planning on drilling out those rivets and giving it a good deep clean and the rivet and use sealant to put it back together. Anybody have any insight or tips on this?

I use Shoo Goo and black duct tape to seal up the seams on the airbox.

What side of the filter are you talking about?

its on the left side if your sitting on the bike. its where the air boot comes out of the box. the part where the boot seals to the box has a crack in it. if any of that made sense...

Ahh the dangerous side. best bet is a new airbox if it's bad.

Marine Goop would be my most trusted adhesive there....
