Crank removal help

Recommended Posts

Long story short, I blew a piston up in my 2003 rm 250, it's a super crazy bike, the cases have been up dated and what not. But I can't get the crank to come out. I got it split but the crank won't come out of the right side.

Using a case splitter?

Pull the seal and hit the bearing inner race up with a torch.

Be sure to do the inner race first or you will have a heck of a time getting it off the crank. Then heat the case to get the bearing out, but be sure to keep the heat moving so it expands evenly and doesn't crack the case.
