08 with lowering link ???

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a Devol lowering link for my 08 crf450r. I am ice racing it this winter and I know i need to also lower my front end so I was plainning on sliding the forks up a bit. the link is supposedly suppose to lower my rear 1.25 in so do I lower my forks that much to or how to i keep the Rake the same? Do i need to adjust my sag to? I know lowering the forks internally is better but I dont have the $ for that right now.. any input will help alot guys, THANKS!:smirk:

Since ice racing is essentially a flat track, a stiffer spring is what you want anyway. So, Id suggest you just cut what you want to drop out of the front off the spring and then make a spacer out of PVC and a fender style washer that you can mount behind the mid valve to shorten the stroke of the fork and your done.

How do you like me now? I just saved you 300 bucks and it'll only take about an hour and half.
