Yamaha Yfz 450 hid light kit installation

Recommended Posts

I have a 05 YFZ 450. I bought a HID kit off ebay ( I posted the link on the bottom) I tried wiring them to the existing wiring for the stock lights and all I got was flickering. I then tried hard wiring them to the battery. The first time I touched the wires to the battery the light worked, then after that I got nothing. I was wondering if anyone had any info that could help me. Thanks.

well first off, if you don't have a high output stator, they will not work because of the ac/dc power.

the flickering is do to the lack of voltage.

I have them in my 2011 450x, but thats a different story.

You need to float the ground on your stator and get a 100% DC regulator/rectifier to get the HID to work.
