kx250 triple clamps

Recommended Posts

everyone on my last post thinks it is a bad idea to convert my 1998 kx250 into a newer chassy and keep my motor because the gains are not significant for the amount of money. how bout if i just tried to change out the triple clamps, forks, swingarm and rear shock of my 1998 for a newer year. does anyone know if 250f suspension and triple clamps will bolt onto my 1998?

The shock in your 98 is fine. Just get it rebuilt and a spring for your weight. The only fork swap that is worth anything would be for a set of twin chamber forks. You need at least the forks, clamps and brake system. You can make the 98 wheel work playing with spacers and you wil have to file off about 1/16" from the front caliper carrier where the bolts go through. You will have to swap your steering stem to the newer clamps.

There's pics and crap all here, just search for it.
