pro circuit vs pro action for woods. Anybody use these suspension companies?

hey guys i got a 09 yz450f and my rear end sometimes always breaks loose and it doesnt seem like it sticks. Also the front wheel climbs over ruts sometimes.

But i want to get the suspension sprung for my weight. Im about 57 and about 210 but loosing weight as we speak. i ride woods and a little Motox but mostly singletrack and i want to try some AWRCS woods races this year. I am at best right now a B rider

And one thing i want is someone local, Pro circuit isnt local but my buddy does stuff with PC and he has a case to send my suspension out.

Now does anybody have these two brands of suspension? I just want to notice a difference.

I have been using Pro Action for yrs. There world headquarters is just outside of Pittsburgh and have several locations nationwide. These guys know there S**t. They also know the local tracks and can help set your bike up for your track. I ride 4 differant tracks. Pro Action gave me differant setups for each track and I have not been able to find a better feeling setup yet.

Definitely go with Pro Action

Use the case and send your suspension to Pro Action, I'm sure they won't mind.

Yeah I called them up a few times and they are super nice guys. Now did you get the full revalve? Also did you see a difference?

My buddy got Pro circuit and he said PC is better but i think the opposite because i bet your paying for Pro circuit.

Now if you dont mind me asking what did the suspension job cost?

I had my older bikes revalved and felt a huge differance for the better. My current bike is an 08 yz450f and handles better than any bike i've ever rode, so I won't be revalving it.

I believe I paid about $500 for front and rear full rebuild with seals, bushings, and revalve.

Well, it all depends on what your looking to have done.

Let me ask you a couple questions first, where are you in PA? what are your riding? What's your skill level? What's your weight? Do you need new springs to compensate for weight?

I'll break it down for you the way Pro Action would.

Fork service $100 this is a tear down, cleaning and rebuild.

if seals are needed, there $25 a set

bushings are $25 a set,

new fork springs are $110 a set

revalve is an additional $125 on top of the fork service.

I'm about 210lbs and loosing weight as we speak and I'm about 5'8. I ride single track, anything woods related logs, etc,etc. But at best I'm probably a b rider. But if I get my suspension done, will my rear end stay planted? Like right not it likes to kick out from under.

And I ride by the meadows casino.

Alex I would make sure you have your sag set right and play with the clickers a bit.

The YZ has good suspension stock and you might not need a revalve maybe just an oil change.

You could save yourself a whole pile of cash.

Yeah that's what one of my guys I work with at my dealer said. But I lost 35 pounds so I still have to re set my sag. That's why I'm 210. Hahaha

But the forks are good everywhere but the thing is through some rough ground with some.bumps it sometimes hurts when I hit them. Idk if I need to he more aggressive and just take it or what.

I'm.just not sure what to do. Andy ideas how how to adjust the shock settings and fork settings? I know where the settings are and what they do.

What I'm saying is like if the front wheel is pushing etc etc. What clicks to turn. And same with the shock. Like if its too springy etc etc.

You do it by trial and error. Keep records of what you did and how you think it affected the bike.

If you get lost in the settings you can always go back where you started.

Re-set your sag before you ride the bike, it's important.

GO get your suspension professionally set up BUT don"t SEND IT OUT! I'm sure you can find a pro suspension guy at a local race, top suspension guys usually are at all the races. It should be under 500 dollars.. The aformentioned prices are reasonable for sure. Once the Professional services your suspension, he will set it up for you on the bike, give u a standard setting set up then go ride and fine tune it.. get your suspension serviced every 20 - 30 hours of riding!!! ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD... along with the RECLUSE CLUTCH you will be in shock the difference!!
