Winter Rebuild Carb tuning Q's

Recommended Posts

So, my exhaust cam wrecked the top end of the motor at the end of the season. Now it gets some new components and I need help with jetting it properly.

Bike-

2007 DRZ-400SM

434 BB Std Comp

Hotcams IN & EX

Full Hindle exhaust

3x3, K&N

39 FCR-MX

Location-

Montana

Riding Alt 4600ft - 5200ft

So I am just curious as to what a good jetting and needle starting point is.

And an off topic question too.

Would it be advisable to split the new base gasket to one layer to bump the C/R up a bit. The 434 kit is using a JE piston and I assume its a OEM cylinder bored to 94mm. The kit has not been installed yet.

Thanks

WJ
