Anything to fear when buying a 95 ktm 300 mxc

Recommended Posts

I'm going this week to look and maybe buy a 300 mxc and wanted to know if there's anything to watch out for with this bike....... beside the norm. Never had a ktm but it looks nice and he says it was rebuilt not to long ago and is good to go.

If the guy did normal maintenance on The bike, it should be

Fine. I had a 1997 300 exc for 10 years and never had any

Problems with it. I would take the bike apart every summer and

regrease everthing. It held up really well over the years. I have herd

some of the early 300's had jetting issues. I never had that problem

with mine. I think the 1995 model 300 has a different piston and head

From all the other models. The bike has an Ohlins shock that works really

good. The 45mm marzocchi forks work ok. They tend to leak. I used

Race tech fork seals and used fork boots. That helped a lot.

Yeah i heard somewhere else that the piston was different then the other years and cost 3 times as much....... Do you know of any other parts that are rare and expensive on it?
