Newbie with drz400 finish issues

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Just picked up a almost new 300 mile 09 drz400s and i noticed the finish on the fork clicker slots have began to surface rust, does anybody else have this issue? If so, is there anyway to fix it? Also i noticed some of the paint on the front brake fluid reservoir is bubbling like maybe some brake fluid is seeping out, whats the best way to fix that? Just tape it off and respray it? Or?:smirk:

Anybody have any idea how to get the rust off the adjuster?

Lightly rub it with steel wool.

The paint on your brake reservoir will crackle and bubble due to brake fluid changes, the brake fluid is a corrosive substance and its just about impossible to change fluid and bleed without getting a little on the reservoir. I cover mine with masking tape before changes now, but mine still has that from 4 years ago and hasn't been a problem.
