how to make a crf 450 94db for 20$

Recommended Posts

Hi guys after checking prices for after market silencers i thought id have a go at meeting the strict motocross/enduro limits of 94db[here in UK], i checked all the inserts that seem to pop out regular and then found silencer cores for sale.

These where available in 20mm 25mm 30 and 40mm,as 40mm was the size for a 450 four stroker i thought id slip in a 25mm and check the findings.

Silencer is now stripped down and being dropped to my fabricator who is going to switch the cores for me and then il repack it.

As the silencer core cost me £13 and the packing about £8 with a tiny amount of cut n weld lets hope it works. As soon as its back together photo's will follow and hopefully a sound meter test, silencer core came from off road only.

putting in a smaller core will make it check a little lower with the old 20" sound test but it will still be the same db at full throttle and will have a higher pitch , I thought they were using the new 2 METTER MAX sound test over there
