Sleeve O-ring

Recommended Posts

Doing a top end job on a 1992 XR250L and I don't have the cyclinder sleeve O-ring (that slippes on to the bottom of the sleeve and sits between the gear housing and the cyclinder head). Is this critical to have on? There are no Honda dealers in the country I live in, and it would take weeks to order.

I think it will be necessary.

What about getting some gasket material and cutting your own. probably available at any ole auto parts store.

If a gasket material would have done the job it would have come that way from the factory. if you want the bike reliable and don't want to be tearing into the engine again, use the right part the first time. If you can come up with the o-rings dimensions, you might be able to source it from some other make/model bike some other supply house.

If it takes weeks to order and get the proper part in then that's what it takes.
