Attn. YZ front end gurus, Help needed!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm working on a Triumph bobber project. I'm running a shortened 2001 yz250f front end on an old triumph frame. I currently have a 21x1.60 front excel wheel and I'm wondering if I can run a wider 21" front rim. I want to use a 21x2.15 harley rim, and have it drilled to the accept the yammy spokes. If I have to I could use a 19. I'm trying to avoid the 17" motard wheel though. Does anyone know if that set up like this would fit between the fork legs?

I don't see any reason why a 2.15 front rim wouldn't fit. You shouls have plenty of clearance.

Hope you are running a supermoto size front brake. That's a lot of bike to stop at highwat speed with the stock YZ fromt rotor and caliper. I would seriously consider something more substantial for a front brake.
