XR650R Front Forks rebound spring

Recommended Posts

Hello, I bought a 2001 XR650R last year, and have been going thru all the suspension, cleaning and regreasing everything this winter. When I disassembled the forks, the little rebound spring on the piston rod is missing. Can anyone tell why would someone remove this spring? or did someone forget to put it back in??.And how important is spring? Will it be alright without it?Thanks Steve.

I looked at the diagram and it appears that is not available as a seperate piece. Comes only with the piston rod. I'm not that familiar with Cart forks but I think that is a top out spring. I'd want it in there.

Thanks for the response. I would think sooner or later it would damage the rod or the tube.Does anyone know where i could get a two of these springs?, other than buying a set of forks on ebay, for the springs. Thanks
