2009 or 2012 as new bike

Anuyone have advice on a new bike purchase? Dig the 450s, deciding between a new 2012 at $8K or a new 2009 at $6K. Is there a big difference between these models. Sold my street bike, looking forward to the trails. FIrst moto.

There is no difference. Same bike.

Buy the 09 and save the 2k for upgrades. No difference between years.

if this is your first moto I'd look fo a used one. There are quite a few out there.

Here is one dressed in Elsinore trim with 40 hours on it for $5K.

You might offer $500 less. Tax and lisence isn't your $6K bike out the door or with mods.

I can't think of any good reason to buy a 12 over a 9. If Honda has made any changes there so small no one knows about them.

HONDA sure likes to stick with a good thing. They are infamous for designing and making something that works well and then leaving it alone until the next leap in technology comes along.
