Yz250 Clutch and Shifting Problems.

Recommended Posts

Ive been building an 01 yz250 over the past months and recently put in a new shifter shaft and once i put the clutch back together I tried shifting through the gears and it doesnt go into 4th or 5th gear also there is a lot of free play in the clutch lever could this be that the cable is stretched? also the bike hasnt had oil in it for a couple of months could that be the reason that it needs to be lubed up a little?

if there was a lot of temperature change when there was no oil in the tranny cases, it could have had condensation in it which = rust.. just spit-balling tho. I hope you werent riding it without oil hahaha

You mean with clutch still in one piece? If yes looks as if the lever is too small in size could be mushroomed.

Try to get it out and have a look at it.
