putting on 13/50 sprockets, quick chain?

Recommended Posts

If you get longer than you need, you can always shorten it.

If you take the time to maintain (clean and lube) a non-oring chain it will last a long time. If you don't, get an O/X/Z/whatever-ring chain. You should still clean and lube it, but it isn't as critical.

I just put my first sealed chain on and rode yesterday. I got sick of adjusting my chain every other time I rode, and Its not even having to adjust the chain but you might have you bike dialed in perfect and then as you start moving the rear wheel back it starts throwning the balance of the bike off. I went with a DID vt2 narrow x ring chain and I didn't notice any loss of power. I didn't think the wheel turned much harder by hand when the bike was on the stand either.

Make sure your chain isn't TOO tight. An overly tight chain will put more stress on is as you ride over bumps and make it wear faster. Also make sure your wheel is square and your rear sprocket is lined up with the front one. Sometimes the axel blocks, or even the markings on the swingarm can be off.
