Replacing head gasket

Recommended Posts

I'm replacing my head gasket because I thought I had a coolant leak and it was pressuring up my coolant system. As I am putting the topend back together I was wondering if I should apply copper gasket adhesive to the gasket. I have used it in the past on cars and never had a problem. The gasket kit recommends installing it dry. I seem to remember seeing a thread in here before where someone was having a similar issue and had replaced multiple gaskets and someone told him to use the sealant. Any input?

If the head and cyl are clean, flat and good condition, dry is best. Copper coat may work as a crutch if the seal is questionable.
