2 stroke needle position

Recommended Posts

I have an older 2 stroke dirtbike with a new Mikuni carb. I would like to know if raising the needle position, or lowering it would help in the low-end bogging problem I'm encountering? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

raising the needle will richen the mid range while lowering it will lean it out. bottom end is adjusted at the air screw, out to make it leaner in to make it richer. try turning the air screw out 1/4 turn at a time. if u have to turn it out a really long way try the next smaller main jet.
