09 kx250f valve adjustment

Recommended Posts

I have a quick queston. is valve clearance the same on the 09 as it is in years past?? which i believe is intake: .10-.15 and exhaust .18-.23 or something like that?

and also when i put the feeler gauge between the lifter and bucket is it supposed to be kind of hard to get into? im not sure but i kind of feel like im doing something wrong.

one more thing. does anybody have the stock shim sizes?

Intake : .10 - .15

Exhaust: .17 - .22

So yes, the same as years past.

There should be some resistance when sliding the feeler gauge but when you have to force it's an ineffective reading. Kind of hard is normal, but when you're really forcing it the gap is too small. Not sure of the OEM shim sizes.

There is no OEM shim size. Each valve is slightly a different length. So they can't just have size OEM shim.
