Suzuki lt80 starting problems. HELP!

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Here's my important question... Just bought a 2002 lt80 for my 4 year old. Went to guys house it fired right up. Put it in my truck drove home.

Went to fire it up next day and it began with a clicking sound. Wouldn't turn over. Hit the relay behind the right fender then it began to turn but no spark.

After about 20 tries (not good i know) with the starter it started slowly got warmed up, took off and it started blowing oil out the exhaust.

Ride for about an hour after fudging around with it for 30 min). Parked it. Waited 5 min. Went back and it fired right up.

Next morning went out and I was back to square 1. Same symptoms as the day before.

Where shoul I start?

Plug, carb, air filter. Has anyone experienced this and what fixes are there?

We all know the petcock is effed up to begin with. I have left it in the DOWN position when not riding and was told to rise it in the RES position.

Please help put a smile on my 4 year olds face! Thanks in advance!

The petcocks are effed up and will let gas in the carb all the time and flood out the motor. get a small ball valve and putt it in line and shut it off that way and see if that fixes it
