Recommended Posts

i have a 2004 yz450 soon as i turn the fuel on its starts to leak out the over flow it even does it when the bike is idling i tried to adjust the floats but didnt work any info would help thanks

Your float needle is sticking inside the float needle cavity. Clean the needle (metal parts) and clean the brass cavity it sits in. It has corroded.

I had the same problem in one of my bikes. I tried to clean the carb as thoroughly as possible but it still kept leaking. I took the carb out and took it to a local shop where he gave it a cleaning. He said it was really clean except there was a very small bit of dirt (that I couldn't see) on the end of the needle. He removed it and it worked perfectly. My guess is that krannie is right. Clean the needle and needle cavity and you should be good to go.
