James Dean Jetting help!

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I just did the 3x3 and put the James Dean jetting kit in my 400 today, took a while but i finally completed it! One question i had was, with the kit you get two needles, one is blue and one red, the blue is supposed to be for "Low altitude/Cool Temperature" and the red for "High altitude High temperature." I live in Ohio, around 800ft above sea level, and installed the blue needle and the bike seems to be running fine in the currently cool temperatures, my concern was with when summer arrives and 80-90 degree weather hits, should I install the red needle, or stick with the blue? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Nope, you will be fine with the Blue. I run the blue needle all year in TN up to 3,000', no problems.

i'm close to you...PA and similar altitude.

i run the blue needle with the clip in position 4 most of the time. when it was really hot and humid last summer, i moved it to position 3 as i was getting just a bit of hesitation with the clip in position 4 on really hot and humid days.

you could probably also just leave it at 3 all the time.
