Swing arm bearing replacement

Recommended Posts

I have a 1999 YZ 125. What is the best way to get the old bearings out of the swingarm? I do have a press to get the new bearings in, but don't know the best method to get the old bearings out other than using a punch to just pound them out. I also don't want to score the inner surface of the swingarm. Any help would be appreciated.

Heat it up with a blowtorch.

Dont bother, it has to be really hot.

I use a suitable socket and press it out with a thread rod (dont know if thats the correct term)

2 thick washers, one socket that fits into the bearing seat and presses against the bearing and a bigger one on the other side the gain some space for the outcoming bearing.
