RM 250 1994/95 - restoration almost done - new PC pipe - guard needed!

Recommended Posts

Hi Gentlemen,

I am writing for some hints because I am really at a loss. I am rebuilding my RM 250 1994 for more than 5 year and work is almost done finally (oem parts are pretty more expensive out of USA). I bought a brand new Pro Circuit Works pipe, polished it and painted by transparent heat-proof paint (scooter pipe finishing - beautiful look for me). It is pretty cleat to me it will need to repair paint every year - no problem and question about it. I am not profi mx rider ► just hobby week polishing two-smoke lover :bonk: and the pipe was pretty expansive. Thus I would like to defend the pipe against dents and thermal water shocks by using a carbon pipe guard. It seems to be a problem for my bike ► a) 1994 is of course the old bike and :smirk: I have no stock pipe but PC Works.

Well here are my questions:

- is there any aftermarket manufacturer making carbon / aluminum (compact, no universal !!) pipe guard for my bike?

- is there any pipe shape difference of the front pipe section (guarded) in terms of stock vs. PC Works? I am not able to compare bacause I took off pretty damaged Messico pipe from my bike.

Thanks a lot for any idea / hint / links / sites / time spent on reading my thread

Cheers!

Later today I will place some of them here, but WIP still :smirk: !!

Anyway............ I found out (from experienced practitioner) that carbon guard is POS. What I really need is thuff manufactured by DEVOL in the past known as: DEVOL rock guard.

Any idea where to get it? Any other manufacturer for aluminum / stainless steel pipe rock guard?

Thx.

Well, as I promissed (but as I said, work is still in progress and final photo series will come in short future). The story of my bike is long. I am working on it more than six years... But if you love her... nothing to solve... :smirk:

1) At the beginning was completely destroyed dirt bike (unfortunately I do not have the photo when I got her) and my vision:

2) After more than 5 years ► operation resurrection I finished ► the big year of first riding ► 2011 (no cosmetics, but almost all parts changed)

and for you man, Pro Circuit Works for Suzuki RM 250 R/S (94/95)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/76725527@N06/6881834195/in/photostream/ ........ condition when I got it, now is polished, painted by using of transparent heat-proof paint - great look!

In future in case of interest ..... I can add more of them. ORII ► still remains to mount pipe, now I am waiting for new silencer, Boyesen rad valve...... that should be all.

Planned ORIII ► icing on the cace ► brand new plastics + graphic kit.

Cheers!
