Aluminum corrosion fix?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My '06 is housed within a couple of hundred yards of the ocean and after a year now the aluminum is starting to corrode/pit. Any suggestions for a polish or compound that retards this process other than taking her apart and putting parts to the polishing wheel?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry all,

This new format seems a lot slower than the last one and it appeared that my post didn't publish... it went to review. Somehow I posted twice. and I dunno how to unpost the 2nd one. Admin help?

Thanks

If you click edit on your first post in the one and click "use full editor" you can change the title to something like "please delete" and delete the entire content of the post, then you will only have one that people will comment on.

aluminum is a soft porous metal and will corode even with a high polish with out protective coating. a clear coat can be used, but I like t use a good paint. It looks good and is easy to clean.
