150's on 5" Wheel

Who here has run or tried to run a 150/60 on a 5" wheel. Tire in question is a Pilot Power on Excel wheels. Bike is a 530 exc-r, trying to eliminate chain slap before it actually occurs.

Thanks

why not just run a chain guide/guard? i run a 165 on a 5" rim on my rmz with no chain slap issues. the chain pretty much touches the tire but the guide helps keep the side play to a minimum.

Hey Gents,

I'm new to motards, having just aquired a 1998 WR400F on the weekend with motard rims. The rear is a 4.25x17 with a 150\70r17 tyre. The tyre slightly contacts the chain and has a crisscross pattern etched into it.

I'm wondering how all you fellas running 150 section rears do it?

Is the WR400F swingarm narrower than the more modern bikes?

Do you have the wheel offset with spacers on the axle or do you run spacers on the sprockets? And if so, can these be bought as a kit are they custom made items?

Any info would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Jed
