09 yz 450 fork oil amount with smart per. mods! Little help

Recommended Posts

If you have the Gen 2 DDT, you may need a lot to keep from bottoming. I had an 07, I was up at 380 and still bottoming, I'm 175 lbs. However, it is much easier to add fluid than remove.

Gen 2.5 fixed it for the most part. If you re-valve it, go to CJ Wai or Grayracer's stacks to bottom the inner spring and keep it from bottoming.

I'm a little heavier but at 212 lbs. (no gear) I run 320ml spi5 (.50 fork springs) full DDT setup. I also recommend tieing a rubber band around the lower fork tube to check your travel. For me it's hard to determine wether harshness is from bottoming or too much oil.

measured a bit over 300 out. Still alot of reisual left and slight spillage....

My 125 calls for 350. That is what I put back in. Will see how it goes...

What is the difference in the gen 2 versus the gen 2.5??

Is it worth me going back in and doing??
