Bleeding Nissin rear master cylinder

Recommended Posts

As the title suggests,

I am stumped, Out yesterday and got the rear brake lever caught in some wire, it jerked the lever locked the wheel stalled the engine and I flew off,,

the rear brake didnt work for the rest of the day, I guessed i had done the seals in the master cylinder.

This morning

Stripped the MC, Installed new plunger, filled system & back bled with a syrnge, fluid level in MC rose but didnt build much pressure in the caliper.. tried pumping the lever,, no joy.

There is definatly no air in the system

The MC is pumping, I removed the banjo and held my thumb on the hole and pumped the brake, pthhhhhhhhuuuuuuu - air escapes.

The brakes bleed up to maby 20%, slight resistance on back wheel but will not go any more..

Any ideas or magicians out there with some ideas?

Bike is a 2011 TM144 en..

Thanks

ive always had some troubles bleeding brakes on a bike. i got a vacuum bleader and that helpt alot. i also removed the brake system and bled it out on the bench and i was able to work some air through with gravity helping. tapping the master cylinder with a wrench can help air loose
