Lean and Rich Plugs

I have a 2012 with less than 5 hours on it. I have not tried the different plugs yet. The manual says to use them for different weather conditions. White(lean) for raining and high humidity. Gray(rich) for low humidity and at continuous high speed. Do people change the couplers according to riding style as well? of mainly just those reasons. If im way off, then let me know. Just trying to figure out when I should change them. Thanks!

I run the richer plug all the time, smoother power and pulls up top. I do have a Yosh pipe though.
