'12 250 CRF

Anyone using one for HS/enduro? How is top speed in the open sections? I really don't like keeping one near the rev limiter. Thanks.

I run mine in 2+ hour Hare Scrambles.

Top speed is probably in excess of 60 MPH with 13/48 gearing.

The bike will go faster, but I'm not quite that brave, and I, alo, don't like to live on the rev limiter.

Haven't clocked mine, but I'd be very surprise if a stock 2012 with stock gearing hit 60 mph! The rev limiter is still coming fast in fifth gear.

I have a CRF250R with stock gearing and it will go 83 mph pegged in fifth. i wouldnt run faster than 55 for long distances due to rpms tho. Also my bike has a wiseco high comp piston, stage 2 hotcam, and a few other minor engine mods, so stock probably isnt near that fast.

You can get a 70 hp CRF250R, until you keep stock gearing, your top speed will stay the same...

yeah, problem is not the lack of power, it's a matters of second before I hit the rev limiter in fifth with my stock 2012. I doubt it run 60 mph or more, but with the proper gearing you sure could ride a lot faster.

Thanks guys. My fears have been confirmed about the speeds. And like a couple have pointed out, 1200 hp will not really change things. Teensy weensy rear and large front sprkts may help a little but then will not work in the woods. Oh well, guess I'll look at the euro stuff.

Seriously, our bike should come with a 6th gear like the 125

We have enough power to handle it
