Oem vs Pro-x

Recommended Posts

I know theres a few of these threads all ready but oh well. I recently rebuilt my bike, broke it in and around 3 hours it broke so I need a new piston long with other work. Is oem the same as pro-x? I can get a new oem cheaper.

i think some of the parts like rods are made at the same facility that makes oem jap rods, could be true also for pistons but ive never bought and examined the prox piston so i cant be sure. if you look at the prox clutch baskets for atleast some bike applications, they appear to be made by the same facility that supplies mitaka

There is a short write-up on Pro-X parts (in general) in the lastest edition of Dirt Rider (March). As mentioned earlier, it says they are made by the same vendor as certain OEM parts and are sometimes priced less, sometimes more. Quality is OEM.
