Supercross Speed live? Not really (NO SPOILER)

Recommended Posts

We had the RacerX twitter open while watching the Dallas race on SpeedTV which claimed it was live. RacerX reported the 450 main starting 25 minutes before it was shown on SpeedTV, as well as the current positions. What gives?

They do it so they can build in a bit of a tape delay for any unforeseen problems that may come up, and to help with announcing and cutting in replays and such.

This. And it helps networks avoid the other pitfalls of "live" tv. Prophanity, streakers, etc., tat while might seen comical, can get expensive when the fines start rolling in.

They start the coverage 30 minutes after the event starts. The races always start at 7pm and last nights coverage started at 7:30

It has always been like that

Another thing to think about is commercial time, and the track maintenance. They can skip some of it so we're not waiting forever to see some racing.
