not sure about the 2000 but heres some useful info on yz shocks

The wr -07 shock is 488,5mm 16mm shaft yz250f-06 is 488,5mm 18mm shaft yz250f-07 is 490mm 18 mm shaft wr/yz426-02 is 490,5 16mm shaft yz450f-03 490,5mm 16 shaft yz250f-02 490,5mm 16 shaft

looks like all those will interchange, you need to measure yours.

The clevis of a 05 shock is 5 mm longer than the 1999 one.
