rm 125 carb problem

Recommended Posts

i just rebuilt this 1979 rm 125 . it runs good but it is hard to start. once started and the fuel turned on i have a steady stream of gas coming out the over flow. when im driving i the stream slows a little but not much. i have adjusted the float both ways. checked the needle is it becuase im breaking it in and i dont get enough flow thru it cause im not doing full throttle? i am just wasting gas here and i need some help.

Pull the carb and remove the bowl. Hold it over a container to catch the gas and turn the gas on. Lift the float and the gas should stop. If it doesn't ( which I'm guessing it will not) you need to clean/replace the shut off valve on the float. that's the piece that sits on top of the float near where it pivots.
