blown up ktm sx 125?

a friend just blew up his 2003 ktm sx 125. he wasridingit and it bogged down and shut off. he rippedn the motor out and when i spin the crank around with the cylender off it doesnt spin smoth the whole way around. its got knocks consistanly all the way around. im not sure if its suppot to do it but i dont think it should......tell me what you guys think

Im pretty sure that means the low end bearings are shot, if the piston broke there are most likely small fragments that need to be flushed out with diesel or karosine.

It might be just fine, and you are feeling the magnetic forces of the stator/rotor, which is normal. Remove the flywheel and see how it feels before making a judgement on the bottom end. Without the rotor on, it should feel smooth throughout the rotation. The rod's big-end is the most likely lower-end component to fail.

I have an 03 125sx and I am doing a top end now. When I spin my crank it is smooth and has no catches, snags or resistance of any type. Good luck.
