Fouling plugs

Recommended Posts

so last season i had some issues fouling plugs in my 05 250sx. pretty much needed a new one every ride. and when it came out it was wet and black. i tore down my bike this winter and one thing i found when swapping the throttle cable was that a bunch of dirt had gotten down to the needle. the clip was all mucked up. could this have been letting fuel just pour in? should i raise the clip on the needle? should i run a smaller main? thanks

this is what i am running as well.

Main:165

Pilot:42

Needle: NOZF clip is 4th notch down

V-Force Reeds

there is also some crazy nut behind the bars that seems to mess things up every now and then.

FMF and Pro Curcuit have standard jetting on their websites. As you live in Wisconsin you may want to go a size richer on the jets. If your jets are on mark and the clip is in the right position and they are completely clean there could be some other problem. You may also be constantly riding the bike in too low of an rpm and the motor will not clean itself out from oil.
