Clutch cover replacement

Recommended Posts

Hinson and ProCircuit offer billet covers, Boyesen has a cast version. There are others, but they are from smaller off brands. Not being a metalurgist, I'm unsure of the difference between billet and cast in terms of durability, though the Boyesen is a bit less expensive. The TT store carries all of them.

I just replaced mine. Went with Hinson because it sounded the most durable. Found it for $129 shipped. I'd recommend a new oring too.. Even with the new one it was a little tricky to get seated properly (too much slack.)

run just a touch of grease in the groove, it will act like a non permanent glue and hold the oring in place.

I used a Hinson, lets you add a little more oil.

Also, use a small piece of old radiatior hose tied to the inside of your brake lever to keep it from punching through the next time you screw up.

I'm going to go oem. its the cheapest way to go. BTW a rock put the hole in it . I do use the rubber hose trick and I run my lever down low with my low pegs. I also have filed off the inside teeth.
