Does anyone know what this bolt does?

Recommended Posts

If I remove it to place a tempurature sensor will it cause problems? (i.e. oil comes out, needs a special torqueing, ruins engine... etc) Incase you're confused it's the bolt in between the fins.

That is the upper pivot for the cam chain tensioner arm. If you remove that bolt you risk letting the arm get pushed out of place by the tensioner or the cam chain. If this happens the only way to get everything back in place is to remove the cam cover and the camshaft.

If I were you, I would NOT remove it.
